Worried about regaining the weight you worked so hard to lose? This is a big concern for many of us following weight loss surgery, but I’m here to tell you, IT’S TOTALLY NORMAL! And you’re not alone.
Here are some tips on how to stay/get back on track:
- Rethinking about your relationship with food - Rewiring yourself to think of food as fuel, instead of as an emotional comfort, is an essential part of the process.
- Get moving - Switching up your physical activity can make a big difference. Try something new like swimming, yoga or strength training. Or join a running club like I did! You don’t have to spend hours at the gym.
- Sleep - Making sure that you get a good six to eight hours of sleep is very important for the body to rest, heal and provide you with enough energy for the next day.
- Going back to your dietician - That’s what they’re there for and seeing a professional can help identify the areas where you might be going wrong. You might be surprised you’re not eating enough!
